Radix Puerariae, Kudzuvine Root: the dried root of Pueraria lobata (Willd.) Ohwi or Pueraria thomsonii Benth. (family Leguminosae), used (1) to reduce heat in cases of exterior syndrome with fever and painful stiffness of the back and nape, (2) to relieve thirst in febrile diseases and diabetes mellitus, (3) to arrest diarrhea in spleen insufficiency, and (4) to promote eruption for measles

 

Granules-B [天花粉tian hua fen]Radix Trichosanthis, Snake-gourd Root Radix Trichosanthis, Snake-gourd Root: the dried root of Trichosanthes kirilowii Maxim. or Trichosanthes rosthornii Harms (family Cucurbitaceae), used to clear heat, promote fluid production, moisten the lung, counteract toxins and reduce swelling for relieving thirst in cases of febrile diseases an diabetes, and treating boils, sores and abscesses
Granules-C [土茯苓tu fu ling] Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae, Glabrous Greenbrier Rhizome used to counteract toxins and eliminate dampness for the treatment of syphilis, morbid leukorrhea and heat stranguria

Radix Ginseng, Ginseng    
used (1) to powerfully replenish qi and to promote fluid production for the treatment of prostration, general weakness, diabetes mellitus, impotence or frigidity, heart failure and cardiogenic shock. (2) to tonify the spleen and lung for the treatment of anorexia, cough and shortness of breath, and (3) as a tranquillizer for treating cardiac palpitation and insomnia

(family Dioscoreaceae), used (1) to replenish qi and yin, tonify the spleen, lung and kidney for the treatment of (1) weakness of the spleen and stomach with poor appetite and chronic diarrhea, (2) lung insufficiency with chronic cough, (3) insecurity of the kidney with nocturnal emission, polyuria and leukorrhagia, and (4) yin deficiency in cases of diabetes

used (1) to replenish liver and kidney yin for the treatment of aching back, weakened knees, vertigo and impotence, and (2) to arrest discharge for nocturnal emission, enuresis, abnormal uterine bleeding, and excessive perspiration
